My name is Wendy Jameson and I have been the Town Clerk for Silloth-on-Solway Town Council since 1997.  I thoroughly enjoy the work which is both varied and interesting.  I have had the privilege of working with some very interesting and knowledgeable people from many different walks of life, all of whom have had a common goal - to improve our town for both residents and visitors alike.

I trained as an Accounting Technician and worked for a Chartered Accountants for 8 years, before leaving to start a family.  I have always had a keen interest in computing and have attended various courses over the years which have included computer studies, word processing, desk top publishing and recently web site design.

I have lived in Silloth-on-Solway most of my life and believe it's one of the nicest places you could live.  Take a look at the Silloth-on-Solway web site and see for yourself.

The duties of a clerk will vary in different parishes and towns but generally include the duty of summoning and attending the meetings of the council; keeping the council minutes; taking charge of the council books and deeds and documents, and giving extracts from the same to any person entitled.  If there is no separate treasurer the clerk will also keep the accounts of the council and attend at audit as may be required.

If you need to contact the Town Council for any reason - I can be contacted by phone (016973) 31128 and fax (016973) 31128.  You can also E-mail me.
